Welcome to our first update from the
2005 FIA/UEM Main Event. A steady stream of race vehicles were arriving at Santa Pod all afternoon and were greeted by warm but windy conditions.
Most of the pro cars are all ready pitted and teams were working on their
cars. The sportsman pits are filling up nicely. One point of note is that
the Top Fuel teams are now pitted past the shop in the 'play pen' area.
Whilst this doesn't offer the same ease of access to spectators as when
the cars were near the startline it does mean that the teams journey to
the fire up road will be a lot easier and they will have much more room to
manoeuvre their cars.
Top Fuel newcomers the McDonald brothers suprised the pits when they
warmed their motor for 30 seconds or so this afternoon.
The Prolong backed ride of Chris Andrews looks good in its new paint.
