As is the
norm, the place was packed!
Ron Fassl set
a new record (great anytime..... but Colorado's altitude!) for fuel
altereds with a 5.31 @ 286.07 but the chutes failed to open and he crashed
into the sand trap. Ron was in a critical condition but he is now in a
stable condition and has had several brief conversations.
Keith Jackson
was out of the funny car he raced at the event last year and into an
altered.. the High Heaven II car. His dad and uncle used to race altereds
back in the day! He had a bit of a fire when the fuel cell broke open
during the burnout... fortunately he was fine and made the second pass
with no problems.
Bart Roundy
won the Quick 16 class. It was his first ever win.
