SUMMER NATIONALS - SANTA POD SATURDAY |
||
|
A very long day at the Pod today but also very enjoyable. We decided to follow the CCSE cruise so we got in quite late, hence this report is a bit rushed. Not really too much to say. Good racing, reasonable weather, small crowd but we were expecting it. Not many fast times run today, nearly everyone seemed a bit down on there usual performances, there was a bit of a head wind which could account for this. The Wratten Bros team put in their first runs in there Methanol Funny Car, a really wild run first down the track. Andy Robinson ran a 6.64 in his Pro Mod, running in Super Pro ET for this meet. Darryl Bradford had his fueller in the pits, we heard him warm the motor and believe it was for a TV crew. The car was dissembled this afternoon and it doesn't look like it will be putting in an appearance on the track. All in all a reasonable first day, lets hope for another good day tomorrow. We've posted a few pictures bellow and some more of the CCSE cruise on a separate page which can be accessed from the Event Home Page.
