MAIN EVENT - SANTA POD SUNDAY |

| Fantastic,
superb, unbelievable what else can you say, the much-anticipated 300 mph
run happened today during Top Fuel qualifying, Barry Sheavills was racing
Andy Carter, Sheavills left first but red lit and both cars stormed up the
track as the score boards flashed up the times the place went wild. Both
cars ran over 300 mph Sheavills ran 4.97/304 to Carters 4.89/303 for a new
ET record. This was Europe’s 1st side-by-side four, the first
300, the first side-by-side 300 and the first run into the 4.8’s all in
one race. So who was first to run 300 Barry got there first but red lit so
does that make Andy officially the first? Micke Kagered ran 5.09/285, Kim
Reymond 5.20/255, Susanne Callin 5.53/183 and Daryl Bradford got his
licence with a 5.60/195.The Nitro Funny cars had a rough time with
Spuffard, Smax Smith and Gary Page all putting rods out of the blocks so
they all have a lot of hard work to do overnight. There was a lot of good
racing all day and the weather forecast looks good so it should be another
great day tomorrow.
Today's coverage was sponsored by Midland Automatic Transmissions and 1stCameras. We have posted a few pictures below. They were all taken using our new camera supplied by 1stCameras. Hope you enjoy the results. Thanks for tuning in.... Gary and Phil |

Well what can you say... hell of a drag race! We were expecting side by side fours and a 300mph to be run this year but not at the same time!

Dave Wilson

It all looked good on the burnouts and even on the launch, but at 330ft it all went wrong! Both cars suffered big damage. At wander round the pits later reveled this huge whole in Spuffard's block and also a sizable hole in the front of the body.
