EASTER THUNDERBALL - SANTA POD

SUNDAY

The weather wasn't quite as good as yesterday, racing was interrupted several times by brief rain showers and a cold wind was blowing straight down the track. But some good racing was seen in between the showers. Highlight was the Pro Fuel shootout, Gordon Smith ran a new personal best of 5.64 but suffered a fire through the finish line which looks to have put him out for the rest of the weekend and Andy Carter ran two fives to put himself in the lead.

Were tired and off to bed, weather looks better tomorrow.... should be a good day.

The Carter team warm the motor.

Following on from DragsterWorld's web chat, Bob Jarrett gave a fine tour of a Funny Car this morning. He gave a great explanation of how everything worked, including the box of pneumatic tricks below, and answered many questions.

Later John Spuffard put in two passes in the car.

Gordon Smith had a nasty fire through the finish line today. The fuel tank exploded and the body was scorched and cracked.

Steph Milam

Susanne Callin tried another licensing pass this afternoon. It wasn't very successful! A large bang at mid track and small fire left this huge hole in the block.

After yesterdays crash we were surprised to see Roger Moore out today.

Racing was still going on when the CCSE cruise left today so we didn't get a chance to follow them. We did however get a few shots as they left the track.

That's all for today... be sure to tune in for more updates tomorrow.
